2.1.5

Neueste

Changed

  • InsightFace's face models are used only after an administrator has accepted their license, also when the server already has them (downloaded by 2.1.3 or older, by Recognize, or placed in a chosen folder). Until then face matching is off: registration continues as when the models are missing (documents are read, no selfie step, everything else unchanged), and the IDRegister settings explain why next to the accept checkbox (Romanian included). Accepting uses the models already on the server right away, without downloading them again. An acceptance given in 2.1.4 is kept.
  • A registration whose selfie could not be checked although the selfie is required (face models missing, their license not accepted, or the check stopped working during the registration) is recorded as "no selfie check" — never as "match" — and waits for an administrator's approval instead of opening by itself. Administrators get the usual notification and email; the registrations list shows "no selfie check", "selfie: needs a look" or "selfie matched" (Romanian included). A real match and a real mismatch behave as before. When the administrator has turned the selfie off, nothing changes.
  • Paid registration with a document: when that check asks for a person to look (selfie in the middle band, no selfie check, doubtful document), the payment no longer opens the account by itself: it is created disabled and waits for an administrator. The payer gets an email saying so (instead of the payment app's "your account is active"), and the page after the payment says so too.
  • Express registration waiting for approval: the page no longer opens with "Your account is ready"; it says the account was created and is waiting for an administrator (Romanian included).

Fixed

  • "Approve" and "Delete" in the registrations list, and the hourly removal of expired registrations, failed with an error. They work again.
  • Approving a registration now sends the promised email ("Your account is open", with a link to choose a password for a paid account) and adds the account to the configured groups, just like an account opened without approval.

Fixed

  • License section: an active license whose key is not stored on this server (for example, one installed as a signed license file) showed only "Active" followed by an empty key field and "Activate". It now shows the license details with "License key: Not stored on this server (the license itself is active)", "Check now" when the server can check, and "Remove from this server"; the key form is folded under "Use another license key" while the license is active (Romanian included).

Changed

  • InsightFace's pretrained face models (buffalo_l) are published for non-commercial research purposes only, so the app no longer downloads them on its own: an administrator first accepts their license (an unticked checkbox in the IDRegister settings, with a link to InsightFace's license; the date and the account are stored). Without it, the reader is installed without the face models, the settings explain why face matching is off, and a "Download the face models" button appears once the license is accepted. Models already on the server, or provided by Recognize, are not touched. Romanian included.
  • Author: MediaLab Works. Links to the old source repositories were removed or now point to medialab.works.

Fixed

  • The computer hand-off step list ("Opened on the phone", "Document read", …) showed up as a thin grey bar; it is displayed correctly again.
  • Status colors are readable again on Nextcloud 34, where the plain error, warning and success colors became pale backgrounds: the "active" / "awaiting approval" pills, the reader status lines, the personal-settings pill and errors, and the registration page messages (which also float over the camera) now use matching text colors with a tint as background, so they stay readable on Nextcloud 30–34, light and dark. Strength meters and borders use the element colors.
  • The registrations list no longer overflows on a phone: on narrow screens it shows one card per registration, each value labeled with its column.
  • The connection pill no longer covers the camera hint while the camera is open: the hint moves above it.
  • The License section no longer reports "App files were changed" when the app is installed from source (the integrity check exists only in release builds).

Fixed

  • Removing or tampering with the license module no longer breaks the rest of Nextcloud. Previously, the whole Nextcloud login page returned an error 500, background jobs (cron) could stop for the whole server and the settings pages failed. Now only this app stops, cleanly. The login page, cron and settings keep working.
  • The License section now shows an "app files were changed" state when the integrity check fails, instead of still reporting the license as active.

2.1.0

Ersetzt, nicht verteilt

Nur der Vollständigkeit halber aufgeführt: weder zum Download noch als Update verfügbar.

  • Paid registration through a payment app (Cashier) instead of the ID check. Replaced within hours by 2.1.1, which fixes the protected builds.

1.13.0

Kostenlose Version vor der Lizenzierung
  • The app installs its own reader and face models from the administration page (RapidOCR, ONNX Runtime, OpenCV and the InsightFace model pack), with no compiler.
  • The QR handover lives in the database, so Redis is no longer needed.

1.12.2

Kostenlose Version vor der Lizenzierung
  • Fixed: unconfirmed registrations are cleared away every hour again, instead of once a night.

1.12.1

Kostenlose Version vor der Lizenzierung
  • The selfie takes itself, and an expired document is refused.
  • Consent before the camera starts and a small head turn during the selfie.
  • A driving license is read as a driving license again; the accepted documents are named identity card (CI) and electronic identity card (CEI).

1.9.4

Kostenlose Version vor der Lizenzierung
  • The document has to be physical: copies and pictures on a screen are refused.
  • Endpoints for the Android app: the chip of the electronic identity card read over NFC.
  • Fixes for the camera screen, the connection indicator and the number settings.

1.7.0

Kostenlose Version vor der Lizenzierung
  • Express registration: the account is created right after the document and the selfie, with an automatic sign-in and a profile step for the e-mail address, phone number and nickname.

1.6.0

Kostenlose Version vor der Lizenzierung
  • The wizard survives a page reload.
  • Selfie with the front camera and a face guide; a password generator.

1.5.0

Kostenlose Version vor der Lizenzierung
  • Documents are read with RapidOCR (neural text recognition); Tesseract stays as the fallback.
  • occ idregister:install-ocr.

1.4.0

Kostenlose Version vor der Lizenzierung
  • The document is read live from the camera, with guidance, and the picture is taken by itself when the personal number is stable.
  • The app is now called "Sign up with ID".

1.3.2

Kostenlose Version vor der Lizenzierung
  • Fixed: a long mixed password containing a common word was rated weak.

1.3.1

Kostenlose Version vor der Lizenzierung
  • Fixed: every step of the wizard was shown at once.

1.3.0

Kostenlose Version vor der Lizenzierung
  • No account exists before the e-mail address is confirmed and a password chosen.
  • Step counter, password strength meter and progress indicator; signed-in visitors are sent away.

1.2.0

Kostenlose Version vor der Lizenzierung
  • Registration only from a phone or tablet: a computer shows a QR code and follows the handover.
  • A selfie compared with the picture on the document, the driving license as a second document, a link on the sign-in page and more administrator conditions.

1.0.0

Kostenlose Version vor der Lizenzierung

First release: registration from a photo of a Romanian identity card, with the e-mail address verified by a code and a link. The name comes from the card; the card picture is never written to disk and the personal number is kept only as a salted hash.
