Favorite Actors — Jellyfin to Radarr/Sonarr

Actors you add to favorites in Jellyfin are followed automatically in Radarr (their movies) and Sonarr (series where they have a main role).

Favorite Actors by medialab connects the heart on a Jellyfin actor page to Radarr and Sonarr: mark an actor as a favorite and their movies and main-role series are followed automatically.

What it does

  • Radarr: a TMDb Person import list (acting roles) for every favorite actor.
  • Sonarr: a custom list per actor, served by the plugin, with the series in which the actor has a main role (at least a number of episodes; talk shows, news, reality and documentaries left out, as are appearances as "Self").
  • Fast: reacts within seconds to the heart on the actor page and asks Radarr and Sonarr to read the lists at once; a full reconcile runs at start and every 6 hours.
  • Chosen users: only the favorites of the users you pick are followed.
  • Clean removal: when an actor is removed from favorites, their lists are deleted; movies and series already added stay. Above 3 deletions at once the automatic sync deletes nothing and asks you to confirm.
  • Search and add: a tab (administrators only) searches movies through Radarr and series through Sonarr and adds them directly, with your quality profile and root folder.

Requirements

  • Jellyfin Server 12.2 or newer.
  • Radarr and/or Sonarr reachable from the Jellyfin server, with their API keys.
  • A free TMDb API key (for the Sonarr lists); Sonarr must be able to reach the Jellyfin address set in the plugin.

Frequently asked

Can Jellyfin add an actor's movies to Radarr automatically? Yes: with Favorite Actors, every actor marked as a favorite gets a Radarr TMDb Person list, so Radarr adds their movies with your quality profile. See the guide.

What happens to downloaded movies when I remove an actor from favorites? Only the actor's lists are deleted; movies and series already added stay where they are. The plugin warns if Radarr or Sonarr is set to remove titles when a list changes.

Licensing

The plugin is open source (GPL-3.0), like Jellyfin itself. What you buy is the subscription for builds, updates and support for one Jellyfin server: ready-to-install releases through your private plugin repository, every update while the subscription is active, and help when something does not work. The plugin checks the subscription key once a day; without a valid subscription it stops until you renew (nothing is deleted). Monthly, yearly or lifetime (lifetime includes one year of updates), or included in the Jellyfin bundle. 30-day free trial.

Source code. For every release, the complete corresponding source code is downloadable from your account (Account → Licences, Source code) next to the build, under the same rules as the build, and each archive contains the full GPL-3.0 text (LICENSE). If you need the source of a version you can no longer download, ask us and we send it. See section 10 of the EULA.

Requirements

  • Jellyfin Server 12.2 or newer (Linux, Windows or Docker)
  • Radarr and/or Sonarr, and a free TMDb API key (for Sonarr)
  • Open source (GPL-3.0): the source code of each version is in your account
