A user on r/jellyfin has raised a question about Live TV in Neptune, a Jellyfin player available on APTV. In the current release, the Live TV tile appears in the interface, but it does not populate any streams for them. They are unsure whether the current build actually supports Live TV, or whether they simply have something misconfigured on their side (source).
That is the whole of the report: a visible tile, an empty list, and an open question about support versus setup. No version number, changelog entry or maintainer response is included, so it is too early to say whether this is a missing feature, a client-side configuration issue or something else.
Who it affects. Anyone running Neptune as a Jellyfin client and expecting Live TV to work from the app. Because the tile is present, it is reasonable for users to assume the feature is available, which makes the empty state confusing. People who only use Neptune for on-demand libraries are unaffected.
Why it matters. Live TV is one of the areas where client support varies most across the Jellyfin ecosystem. A tile that renders but never fills suggests either a feature that is not yet wired up in this release or a setup step that is not obvious. Either way, the practical result is the same for the user: no channels, no clear next step. For self-hosters, this is a reminder to check client capability before building a viewing setup around it.
Our take. The first thing we would do is narrow down where the problem sits. Confirm that Live TV works in another Jellyfin client against the same server, such as the web interface. If it does, the server side and your tuner or guide data are likely fine, and the question is purely about Neptune's current capabilities. If it does not, fix the server side first.
Then check the project's own release notes or issue tracker for the current build, rather than assuming the tile means the feature is complete. Asking in the original thread is also worthwhile, since other Neptune users may already know the answer.
One note on terminology: the post title mentions IPTV, and it is worth being clear that Live TV in Jellyfin is meant for sources you own or are licensed to receive, such as your own tuner hardware or a legitimate provider. Public servers carrying unlicensed streams are not something we support or recommend.
